The Boston Police Department said on Tuesday that its traffic division is now investigating whether a police officer’s vehicle struck a woman while responding to a crash.

The department said the crash happened around 6:30 a.m.

Monday on the South Street and South Shoreway in North Boston.

The woman was hit by a Toyota Camry that was responding to the crash, which occurred after a collision between two vehicles.

“Our investigators are conducting an investigation to determine if this collision resulted in the death of a woman,” the police department said in a statement.

The crash came just two days after a woman died in a collision on the city’s South Shore.

The Massachusetts State Police said that the driver of the Toyota Camrys that struck the woman was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of that Toyota was not injured.
